LCD Monitor Problem blue tint?

I have a Xerox LCD 19 "widescreen computer monitor. This afternoon he started to have this problem: blue light shadow would come on the screen in use, the first flicker, then a little later phase and the shadow would intermittently. I called my local Office Depot and talked to a realtor, who said she could be either a bad connection or it could be a problem with the liquid to the screen. I checked the connections and made sure they were tight. But the problem persisted. I had this monitor for about a year and a half, 20 months to be exact. Thus, the manufacturers warranty has expired. I bought the monitor for $ 200. Would a repair is too expensive to not be useful to do? What cause LCD monitor to be damaged like that? If all LCD monitors can be expected to develop a problem of this kind in less than two years of use? Thank you very much, CL

I know this is probably unnecessary, but have you tried the monitor settings? repair will no longer than likely exceed the cost of a new. our society is extremely wasteful disposal
