HDTV monitor and my Dell computer?

So I brought a new Dell flat screen monitor 20 "which is compatible with HDTV. I thought the monitor connected to my HDTV-ready cable box with a DVI cable so I can watch HD cable channels or other on my screen. My questions are: 1.) Do I still need a TV tuner card or equipment to make it work? 2.) If I connect my monitor to my decoder .. will be the cable signal on my screen all the time? For example, when I'l run other programs .. will the cable signal interfere with them? My Dell monitor has Picture in Picture, but that means the TV will always be low, even when I do not want him be? 3.) Will I still be able to watch cable TV on my normal TV, which is currently connected to the cable box? Thank you!

1) No, your cable box, HDTV Tuner. You just need to change the input on your monitor to the one connected to your Digibox when want to watch cable. Then back on your PC when you want to do things computer. 2) You can activate / deactivate the PIP whenever you feel like it, I suppose. Because the PC (VGA) and cable (HDMI) are separate entrances, they are isolated from each other, which means that you should not have problems a single signal bleeding on the other. It's not like the connection between your VCR and cable box and TV coaxial having to get the TV / VCR correct switch and TV on channel 3 thing. 3) You as long as you do not unplug your cable box your TV.
